Who we are
BeShadA is a pan-African business-to-business wholesale marketplace operated from Ghana. We connect verified African suppliers with global buyers. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, business name, country, role (buyer/supplier/admin).
- Verification documents (suppliers only): government-issued ID, business registration certificate, trade license. Stored encrypted and accessible only by BeShadA's verification team.
- Payment data: handled entirely by our payment processors (Paystack, Stripe). BeShadA never sees or stores your full card number, CVV, or PIN.
- Payout data (suppliers only): bank account number or mobile money number used solely to send your payouts via Paystack.
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, clicks, search terms (for fraud prevention and product improvement).
- Messages: chat, RFQs, and support tickets between buyers and suppliers, retained for dispute resolution.
How we use your data
- To operate the marketplace and process transactions.
- To verify supplier identity, business registration, and trade history.
- To prevent fraud, money laundering, and abuse.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmations, payouts, support replies).
- To improve product quality and personalize search results.
Payment & escrow security
BeShadA never stores your full card number, CVV, mobile money PIN, or bank login. Card and mobile-money payments are processed by Paystack (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified) and Stripe, both audited and trusted by hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. Your money is held in escrow on BeShadA and released to the seller only after delivery confirmation or 7-day auto-release, whichever comes first.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share strictly necessary data with:
- Payment processors: Paystack, Stripe (for charging and payouts).
- Cloud infrastructure: Emergent, MongoDB (encrypted storage).
- AI providers: Anthropic Claude (only when you use AI features — image search, AI product descriptions). Photos used for image search are processed once and not stored by the AI provider.
- Law enforcement: only when legally compelled.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw consent, or close your account by emailing support@beshada.africa or using the support page. We respond within 30 days. Suppliers' transactional records (orders, payouts, tax data) may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with Ghanaian tax law.
Children
BeShadA is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years old.
